Abbie Burd, LMSW

A woman with long, wavy brown hair and green eyes smiling outdoors with a blurred green background.

I’m Abbie Burd, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based in Buffalo, NY. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Binghamton University and my Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo.

I specialize in helping women navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns. My work is guided by the belief that healing begins with connection — feeling seen, supported, and understood.

Before joining GC Counseling PLLC, I gained experience supporting individuals living with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, homelessness, and co-occurring medical conditions. These experiences shaped my ability to meet clients with empathy and without judgment, no matter what they’re facing.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients process past experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build skills for lasting emotional balance. Together, we’ll work toward resilience, self-compassion, and healthier relationships — so you can move toward the life you truly want.

Outside the therapy room, I’m a proud Buffalo Bills fan — Go Bills!
